Bio-Diesel F1 Engine Project
« on: April 01, 2006, 12:12:46 AM »
Honda has emerged as a key player in the development of a new alternative fuel project aimed at Formula 1.

Honda developed a bio-diesel-powered F1 engine three years ago, but the project floundered not long afterwards, with the car and its technology being mothballed until a meeting between Honda and Princes Oils led to the alternative fuel route being reinvestigated.

FIA fear that F1 will be under the spotlight should there be an oil shortage in years to come. They have recently announced a freeze on engine development and it is believed this will give teams time to develop engines for alternative fuels. However, Honda has a ‘jump start’ on other teams and is considering introducing their bio-fuel diesel engine this year.  :o

Honda’s CEO Nick Fry said…..”There is nothing in the 2006 regulations stating the new V8 engines cannot be bio-diesel…”

Princes Oils directors Malcolm Crisp and Rob Dry said…..”This is a fantastic opportunity for us; it’s not every day a food oil manufacturer gets involved in fueling F1 cars…”

OK Who was fooled? Go on, admit it.

A diesel, in F1, running on cooking oil with the three people involved called Fry, Crisp & Dry  :DD

I stumbled across this one as well.

Listen to your music whilst ironing, just pop your ipod into the back of this iron - apparently the water squirts it time to the music  ::)

Anybody else see any good ones?
