Force India threatening to boycott tomorrow's race
« on: November 01, 2014, 09:09:03 PM »
(after previous rumours, Lotus is now denying that they have threatened to boycott)

Two possibilities here.

1) They are bluffing (most likely), but are successful in making sure the other teams and Bernie read about it in the papers all over the world tomorrow.  Good for them if they manage to shake things up without going bankrupt.  I think Ferrari's strength at the table has been slightly sapped by the announcement that they are about to be spun out of Fiat.  Though they need to hold onto as much of their appearance money as possible, even more so now, they may also have to realize that they may no longer have the clout or cash to threaten to start their own series if they don't get their way.  Mclaren, RBR and Williams may also realize that they will need to balance things out more or face the end of the sport.  I really think any sort of artificial 3 car teams or massively reduced grid will put the final nail in the coffin for F1.

2)  Force India is in dire straits themselves and can't really afford to run their cars tomorrow.  Hope it's not the latter.

Would have been better off boycotting
