Marussia Closes Down
« on: November 07, 2014, 12:52:31 PM »
Moments ago, during FP1 at Interlagos, Sky Sports reported that Marussia has stopped trading and all staff will be made redundant. They were a favorite of mine, for obvious reasons. The financial structure of F1 today is absolute rubbish.

Absolutely.  That's a real shame.

Shhhh, don't talk about it.  Everything should be solved by the FIA or Bernie.  They know better....

What a waste.  It makes no sense for a team to go bust after its best season, and having scored points.  There is something fundamentally flawed with F1's funding system, and something has to be done about it.

They interviewed a Marussia employee as he was leaving the factory for the last time on the BBC.  They asked him whether he thought that anything would be done to help small teams, and he said that he doubted it, and that there were too many fat cats with their fingers in the till.  I think that aptly sums up the attitude of Ecclestone, CVC, and some people in top teams.

I'm very disenchanted with Formula 1 at the moment.
