Vergne Out, Sainz In at STR
« on: November 29, 2014, 01:55:21 PM »
Toro Rosso will have two second generation drivers next season. Carlos Sainz Jr will join Max Verstappen at Red Bull's junior varsity squad. Sainz is part of Red Bull's young driver program.

I'm sorry to see Jean-Eric Vergne leave F1. He did well for a mid field team. He's now looking for a ride in IndyCar. I hope he finds one. I know Carpenter Fisher Hartman Racing is looking for someone to drive Mike Conway's car on road/street courses.

Vergne has done a good job overall, but there just aren't enough seats left in Formula 1 for him, because other drivers have bigger budgets.

I remain to be convinced by the Sainz Jr and Verstappen Jr driver line-up.  It looks a little too inexperienced, even for Toro Rosso.

Well it looks like certain death to one of these youngsters careers if you ask me. If either one dominates the other must be toast at season end. Not too sure who to put money on?

Also never felt JEV really came up to the mark, so not surprised to see him let go. Other reports suggest that JEV knew he was out long before the end of the season, maybe as early as the summer break.
