Lewis piles F1 mind games pressure on Nico
« on: March 16, 2015, 10:09:04 PM »
There was no need to go faster in Sunday's race he says.:swoon:
Poor old Nico! He threw all he'd got at Lewis.......... but the champ hardly broke sweat,  :D
well according to PlanetF1.com.

Australian GP winner Lewis Hamilton admits he still had plenty of pace in the tank in Melbourne but didn't really need to move up a gear to hold off Nico Rosberg.

Hamilton says he had things under control and didn't see any reason to go all out.

"Once you get a two-second gap, you try to manage that. There's no need to eke out more," the double World Champion said. "When Nico turned up the heat, I was able to react to it. Otherwise, it was a phenomenal race for both of us.

I was thinking the same thing during the race. Every time Nico closed the gap, Lewis opened it up again. Feels to me kinda low class of Lewis to say it about his team mate.

I always give the driver the benefit of the doubt, with the journalist cherry picking quotes.

But we do know that the drivers do like to get at each other.  I'm still wondering if this is under direction from Mercedes just to create press.

The main point of Hamilton's quote though, is that Mercedes has a lot more to give vs ANYONE

Like the old saying goes, if you can do it, it ain't bragging.

It's no surprise that Lewis & Nico aren't BFF's. Lewis just wants to confirm who is the Number One driver at Merc.
