Lewis to Nico - Let's Race!
« on: April 16, 2015, 02:30:56 PM »
Lewis Hamilton says that if teammate Nico Rosberg want to wants to race race him, he should bring it on.

"I grew up watching the sport. You want to see overtaking, you want to see a battle.

"I want the guy to be up my ass if he's got the pace to be up my ass, and if you can't defend it, you lose it.

"I want to race, man. This is motor racing. Racing," he emphasized.

"Nico didn't try (to overtake)," Hamilton continued. "They (Mercedes) said maybe he was just comfortable second and I said, 'Well, that's the difference between us.'"

Snap!

Things should be interesting this week-end.

It sounds so scripted.

I can't tell if Hamilton is trying to be a 'personality', or if Mercedes is trying to make things 'interesting'.

If it's true that Nico was under team orders, this is particularly insulting. Brings Lewis down a bit in my eyes.

Yeah, I agree.

The whole thing is getting weird.  I get the feeling that someone from corporate is going to have to step in and get everyone sorted out on a fresh page.

Vettel ignored Webber.

Schumacher was nothing but complimentary to Irvine, Barichello and Massa.  (Of course, it was easy to be magnanimous when your teammate has agreed to be second banana.)

Unless I missed anything, no one has suggested that Nico was under team orders. Certainly, Lauda has said that Nico just wasn't good enough on the day.
As I have said many times, I'm not a Hamilton fan but give the guy some credit. What we saw in that race was a driver that was controlling the race from the front. Rosberg never got within 1 second of Hamilton. Even if he just wanted to make a point, surely he would have got onto Hamiltons wing.... if he could. I don't think he could.
