Final Lap of NASCAR Canada Clarington 200
« on: June 03, 2015, 01:12:18 AM »
I'd meant to post this a couple weeks ago but took a while to remember to track down the clip.

NASCAR Canada is a 'regional' stock car race.  I can't say I watch it often, but I happened to catch the Green/White/Checker last lap.  This is at 'Canadian Tire Motorsports Park', which some of you might know by it's former name of MoSport, which held a few Canadian GP before the FIA decided the corners were too tight to accommodate F1 speed.

Anyway, if you go to about 4:30 in the clip, you'll see the leader and second place driver having quite a duel, leading up to a few corners where they literally won't give the other guy an inch.  I wish I'd gone, MoSport is practically my back yard!

Rubbin' is racin"!    :yahoo:

What's the sense in having all of the sheet metal hanging on your race car if you don't use it?   ;)

:o Though it was fun to watch, but heart breaking for a driver to come so close to winning, and yet failing so spectacularly.

I would love to see a round of WEC in this circuit  ;)

IMSA will be running the TUSCC sports cars there next month:

As Jeri mentioned, F1 used to race there.

What I love about it though it wasn't one driver simply being the victim of another driver's mistake... they both earned that crash.

I guess they pushed the envelope a bit too far, but definitely they both get the credit for the crash.
