Horner denies his job is under threat
« on: June 23, 2015, 12:47:05 PM »
I would guess that someone in the paddock is trying to stir things up for the boys at RBR...the initials NL spring to mind.  The only person in F1 who could possibly think that Berger would do a better job than Horner would be Niki.  Sorry, I doubt it.

Mercedes has blundered into success by shoehorning in as many people at the top as possible.  I wouldn't be surprised to see other teams try that approach.  I would believe that Horner would keep his job while Berger becomes another non executive chairman or whatever title he feels like stamped on his RBR uniform.

I think Merc's success has more to do with Brawn's left over influence than Niki or Toto...those two just there to manage the politics of the team and are mostly failing at that.

I have to say it one more time...why is Niki Lauda even on the team, but since he is, and they are paying him, will someone get him a few Merc jackets and sweaters to wear at the GP's?  I know he has a broadcast deal at RTL, but for the 1/2 hour before the race and 1/2 hour after, surely they can cover the sver arrow with an RTL windbreaker or something.

Of course Christian's job is under threat. If Red Bull pulls out, there is no job for him to do!

Job security in almost any form of sports is an illusion. One or two bad years can wipe out the memory of four WDC/WCC years very quickly.

Of course Christian's job is under threat. If Red Bull pulls out, there is no job for him to do!

Whilst that's true I think it's more likely Christian would stay on if Mateschitz sells the team as a going concern, for a year or so at least as there are not many proven top line team principals out there.

Failing that he's sure to get preferential treatment from Dieter to take on either RBR or STR under his own Arden team name. That's if he's not recruited by McKenzie of CVC as Bernie's minder [oops sorry that should be apprentice and successor].  ;)

An Arden F1 team should still get some Red Bull sponsorship if he keeps taking drivers from the development programme. After all Red Bull are not talking dropping all single seat motor racing - at least I haven't seen any report of that.
