Button wants future decided soon
« on: September 10, 2015, 03:10:15 PM »
I don't blame him.  After the fiasco last year not letting him even look for another seat until December.  Good for him, I hope they give him an answer quickly.

As for them perhaps wanting to negotiate his pay raise, I have little sympathy for their troubles.  First of all, I don't think Mclaren as a company  is in any difficulty.  If they are paying the guy on the other side of the garage $40m a year, should they really be trying to save any of the $5m they promised Jenson for him to stay in the option they signed?

I'm a little surprised that with this whole Honda fiasco that they haven't been able to leverage a title sponsorship deal out of them and the money that goes with it.  Ron should have been clever enough to write a clause in the contract that if Honda fails to provide a competitive engine, then every sticker on the car lost should be picked up by Honda.

I agree it should not drag on as it did last year. I was never a Mclaren fan and even less so now.
