I guess they would be in a grey area there, as they will take the Renault block and build their own add on's.  Maybe Dieter secretly wants to start building super cars.

A Red Bull branded super car concept touring the auto shows and X games wouldn't be a crazy idea at all.

Just a thought but presumably RBR wouldn't run the updated Renault engine until they were sure they were using it as the basis for next year.

So what happened to being fair competitors to everyone in F1, and fearing no one, which is what Mateschitz, Horner and Marko have been whingeing on about in attempts to get Merc or Ferrari engines .
Seems RBR were prepared to leave Renault to swing in the breeze as to whether their engine updates are great, average or poor. Without a car to run them in this year Renault would be blind and behind with the 2016 start in the Lotus chassis..........nice one spice boys   :o

Following up their exclusive story about an in house engine build for 2016, TJ13 website continues to promote RBRs engine programme, most notably with this assertion:-

This is why Milton Keynes developed ‘building 9’, dug down into the ground two stories and installed a multi million pound AVL rig – a virtual test track used by auto manufacturers to test their engines in situ. A chassis manufacturer does make this kind of mega investment unless they have intentions on a much larger scale. This story was also reported exclusively by TJ13 some months ago.

.

Now if Red Bull have been building their own Power Unit all along why oh why have they engaged in this fantastic pretence of requiring first Mercedes, then Ferrari, and then again Honda power for next season??????????????  :DntKnw:

Seems to me they were just engaging in a humiliation exercise against the other engine builders, having already humiliated Renault throughout the last 2 years.   >:(

Takes sandbagging to a whole new level.   ::)

...or they wanted a close up look at the competition?  1 year Merc, 1 year Ferrari and come into 2018 with a world beater  ;) ;)
