Well it's a good first step, but the real proof of worthiness is when we get to the actual racing.

I like the opposing views of Haas and Steiner in the article, Gene says delayed 16 entry has given team "too much time", whilst the more experienced F1 man Steiner says earlier first race "It hasn't made things easier,".  Sounds to me like one is raring to go and the other is more circumspect.

I can understand why Haas didn't want to be seen as an also ran, and taking the time to make sure they are 'ready to go' once they enter F1.  Perhaps if they'd known they'd be dicing with McLaren, they might have taken a chance.

Well done to Haas for getting through the crash test with little drama and in plenty of time.

They have set a launch date as well.

If the colors in the photo are those of the actual car, I don't much care for it at the moment.  Performance however, is much more important.

Not much imagination there for sure.

It's always a little different once they're on track, and then different again under the lights.

I was truly hoping for the black and yellow livery that was posted as possible option from which to choose.

I think the black carbon look is just pre-livery.  It doesn't even have the Ferrari sticker on it.  I think and hope that the yellow will be back on launch day, it is after all the other Ferrari colour.

Didn't Ferrari once enter as an "American" team, protesting some rule or other, and run their cars blue?

Don't remember the exact situation, but it was about '64, the cars were white with blue stripping and officially entered by Chinetti's NART.

Don't know about the blue, but in the Ferrari store in Marenello the mugs are either red or yellow.  Mine is yellow  ;)

Enzo Ferrari was having a fight with the Italian racing authorities over the  homologation of the 250LM for sports car racing. He entered Surtees & Bandini as Chietti's North American Racing Team (NART) at both Watkins Glen & Mexico City. The cars wore American blue & white.
