Manor-Marussia.  I think Eccure Appalachia F1 has a nice ring to it.

Small catamaran 40-50ft in the caribbean and an investment for expenses to keep me going until I die.

Yes, it's specific...kind of a bucket list of mine, though there's only one thing in it.

The rest to charity.

It would be stupid to have that kind of money.

And I thought £66m over here was a silly amount. Who needs that sort of money ?

Over here Ian we pay taxes on lotto wins so after taxes
you'd probably only get a measly 500 million.Enough for
Cos's F1 team for 2 years or enough for Scott to sail to the
moon and back.

Why take a chance with investments Scott?Bank 200 million
and set up a GPWizard Old Folks Home  for most the members here.

If foreigners win the Powerball, they are except from American tax (there's a customs form to fill out).  We can have the whole thing (well, we have to pay local taxes, but in Canada, gambling proceeds are tax exempt!)  The trick is, you can only buy the tickets on American soil.  A three hour drive for me (if I was so inclined)  Much tougher for our European friends.

Now, apparently there is some obscure law that it is illegal to bring a lottery ticket into the USA, on the grounds of immorality.  So in theory a Canadian can win, but if the Canuck took the ticket home in the interim I suppose it would be forfeit.

I don't think our greedy gov't would let any foreigner get away with paying the full taxes and then some.

3 big winners. One each in California, Florida & Tennessee.

That's my favourite thing about Canadian lotteries:  they're run by the government, so they're basically a voluntary tax.

It's the same here. Various states have their own lottery authorities. Most of them also take part in the two big multi-state lotteries, Powerball & Mega Millions.

Yeah and a few states don't have a state income tax which
comes in handy winning big jackpots. If I'm not mistaken
the UK doesn't have a tax on lotto winning.

To be fair, they are run as a charity, mostly for healthcare and the arts, not general government coffers.

You're right Dare, no tax on winnings in the UK, whether it's lottery, horses or casino.
