Nicola is one of the few people who has successfully outplayed Bernie Ecclestone at financial negotiations.

If you can convince her to leave retirement, sure. Last I read (admittedly back in 2008), she'd invested the money she'd earned so well (approximately Ģ40 million) that she was by that point worth a little over Ģ70 million. And all without taking another formal job after retirement.

I remember the Brands Hatch and Nicola Fulston saga from my days of reading Autosport magazine.  I never realised that it ended in quite that fashion though.  I think that I wasn't so interested in the fine details of contractual negotiations back then to pick up on the fact that she had outmanoeuvred Ecclestone.

My understanding of what Nicola did was actually very much in the Bernie mould. She nearly let the best circuit in the world (Brands Hatch) go bust but lined her own pockets.
If Jonathan Palmer hadn't taken over Brands it probably wouldn't exist now.
