F1 Board Plans Life After Bernie
« on: March 09, 2016, 12:09:45 PM »
The F1 board received a report Tuesday about a succession plan for life after Bernie. The report came from board member Jean-Marc Huet, a former Uniliver financial chief.

I wonder if the board is preparing for a possible disaster in the form of the new, hyper-complicated quali format.

This report delivered to Delta Topco board was a planned item, the autoweek story confirms this, and it's the sort of routine taking place all over the world in boardroms of large and small companies.

Pitpass.com sees it as a more wide ranging report to flag up any perceived deficiencies that may impact on the revenue streams and profitability. The quote below is taken directly from the Pitpass article.

However, it is not just about Ecclestone per se, it is understood the board is to discuss a report by Jean-Marc Huet, F1 board member and former director of Unliver, who has pointed to a number of issues including succession.

Issues such as falling viewing figures, lack of sponsorship and the failure to increase profitability - even though the sport remains a cash cow for those concerned who still reap vast profits without actually investing into it.

Pitpass finishes it's article with these chilling words for anyone expecting Bernie to be replaced:-
Ecclestone, as ever, appears totally unperturbed indeed, one cannot help but feel that he already has his next moves(s) planned

No doubt in my mind about the closing statement about the next moved planned.
Life is short - live each day to the fullest.
