Herbert and Alonso
« on: April 02, 2016, 02:42:00 PM »
After Herbert wrote a ridiculous article suggesting Alonso should hang up his helmet after his crash last race, Alonso was ambushed by Herbert in the paddock yesterday and asked if he is retiring.  Alonso had this nice little zinger for Herbert.

(link may not work...just search Alonso Herbert under videos and you'll find it)

Ferd was right about that.  :good:

Herbert would make a good gardener.

I prefer Johnnie's insights (cheeky or not) to Brundle's, oh and Herbert won F1 races and not just Le mans. :P

Alonso was really annoyed with Herbert about that article, you can tell from the body language.  Unusual for him to be that irritated in public, but I can understand why he was.

It was very surprisng, when all the drivers seems to deliver sterile politically correct talks approved by the pr group of the team, this one is pretty special..

Actually Alonso has almost always taken the company line - this was just a wee outburst, which Herbert clearly deserved.  Button is the surprise for me in interviews, really letting his disappointment show.

When I said that Herbert would make a good gardener, it was not an attack on his past accomplishments, just meant that he should retire and not Alonso.... hopefully Honda will get going before Fernando's pension kicks in....  :DntKnw:
