Williams testing a bizarre wing configuration
« on: May 18, 2016, 04:42:18 PM »
It seems it's just a way to sort out their balance problems by finding the optimal balance of the car.  I hope we don't have to look at one in a race.

Williams has always been game to try out 'crazy' new designs.

I don't think it looks bad.  Gives a sort of aggressive look, like the car is tearing into the wind, not trying to sneak through it.

No, I don't think it's legal anyhow...just using it in testing.

As though the FIA would approve anything new and daring

I'm sure it has more significance for the new regs for 2017, not in actual shape but in downforce loads perhaps.

We know that teams never really admit exactly what they are up to and this seems just a bit too strange to have the big impact they claim, in other stories, on this year's car.

I like it being a bit different, too. I hope they can race it, but I doubt that the Fools In Authority will allow it.
