Brilliant...can you imagine?  Just open channels between two drivers for 30sec or so.  I would pay good money to hear what Kimi had to say to Max last race -

How about a party line that connects all drivers?  It could be fun:  some taunting waiting for the lights to go out.  I could be practical:  warn about debris on track.  It could even be used by the FIA to explain things on the fly, like why there are double yellows.

Yes, this is a sensible move, although I hope that it doesn't lead to driver coaching returning.  They couldn't continue with the current rules though, as they had become farcical.

The only options were ever to allow all-or-none when it came to pit-to-car communications. I'm surprised teams have been conservative enough for the rule to stand for one-and-a-half seasons (counting from the first iteration of the rule, which was already unenforceable).
