Following that line of thought, Kimi would be ideal for them. I like Massa, but I think his role in F1 2017 will be doing commentary on Brazilian TV. I think he retired for a reason.

I'd have loved Kimi when he first returned to F1 and was linked to Williams and I would still really like him to join the team.  Imagine the possibilities for him with Martini as well

I thought I read that Kimi would quit F1 when he couldn't drive for Ferrari any longer. But money talks...not sure if Williams has enough for Kimi

A few sources now suggesting it is a done deal and Massa will be back in the Williams next season.

I think that it would be a terrible mistake for Massa to come back.  Psychologically, he departed on such a high, with that incredible guard of honour in Brazil.  One of the best departures from Formula 1 I've ever seen and certainly the most moving.  Coming back after that will be psychologically bad for him in my opinion, and I really think he needs to stay retired on that basis.  I would, however, not be at all surprised to learn that the deal has been agreed.

I think given the regulation changes and the amount of development Massa would've done on the 2017 car, coupled with the compensation package Mercedes can give Williams and the Martini requirement to field at least one 25+ driver, Massa has to be the best option for Williams.
