He retired too early.Mika had a few more good years left
in him

He provided a different personality from other F1 drivers of the era.  I think that Finnish drivers get pressured into the whole 'iceman' persona, but it's better than the brashness F1 drivers are known for, or the corporate shills that many are forced to adopt.

I was surprised when he left F1 too.

He definitely retired too early in my opinion.  He was a very good driver and I liked his rather dry sense of humour.
