Only problem with that story is they are forgetting that FIA approval is needed for change of ownership of the commercial rights. That's one of the reasons Liberty had to take over the rights in stages this time.

Max tied it so that a) the FIA could stop Bernie from losing the effective rights (e.g. by hostile takeover) and b) so that if Bernie went rogue, the FIA would get the rights back automatically, thus limiting the amount that Bernie could deviate from Max's plan.
