  • Wizzo: GPW will be down from approximately 13:30 tomorrow until the migration to the new server is complete. Once the site is "live" on the new server it could take another 24-48 hours to become accessible to all users.

Nurburgring 24H
« on: August 02, 2017, 11:21:15 PM »
Sabine Schmitz once again demonstrates that she is the Master of the Nurburgring by destroying the field on the opening lap of the 24 Hour in a 911.

Wow, what a driver Sabine is.  :swoon:

Mesmerizing...  :good: :good: :good:

Gawd, she's good.  Had a little help from her friends, but still, wet Nurburgring in a twitchy Porsche?  Total respect for that woman.  Wonder what would have happened if SHE had been given a chance in F1.

An amazing drive! I'd really like to see her get a shot at a good ride in a top series.

I was looking to see if I could find some decent onboard footage from Susie Wolff (Stoddart) just for some fun comparison, but I can hardly find anything other than her Hockenheim accident, and even then only a tiny bit of footage.  Can anyone find some decent onboard footage for a bit of comparison?  I don't even know if she has driven Nürburgring.  Her husband has put in his share of laps there.

Sabine is 48 years old, so I don't think she will be getting a ride anywhere. She drove one of the 'Ring Taxis, BMWs that offer rides around the 'Ring for years. She estimates she has over 20,000 laps around the course, giving her an edge on just about everyone.

Doing 20k laps driving around idiots with their grandmother's Tercel probably gave her a great deal of race craft nonetheless.
