Wouldn't be surprised if there was financial trouble there. Sponsorship money is down, entries are down, ticket sales are down, ratings are down. A sport that forgot its roots.

I was a life-long NASCAR fan until they cut the heart out of it. If they get back to racing they might bring back the fans.

Racing sort of jumped the shark.  There was a time when race cars represented something exotic or unobtainable.  Now that family grocery haulers use higher technology than NASCAR or F1, that element of something 'special' has been lost.

They need to take the reigns off and let the teams create blindingly fast race cars.  (This is both for NASCAR and F1)

NASCAR was never that much about high tech. they still had carburetors until a couple of years ago. They've just strangled the racing with rules. The latest is that they stop the race several times for no apparent reason. It's called "segment racing" or something. They wave a green checkered flag (the ultimate in racing contradictions). And then there's "The Race to the Chase To the Cup for the Thing."  :sick:
