Vanwall Changed F1 Forever
« on: August 01, 2018, 07:14:14 PM »
The story of Vanwall's 1958 F1 Constructor's Championship and how it started Great Britian's dominance of the sport. It's an interesting story that I first read in Automobile Quarterly many years ago.

This story is part of AutoWeek's 60th anniversary celebration.

I started reading Autoweek in the early '60s. I would stop at the drugstore on my way home from high school and pay 50 cents for the double folded newspaper. Of course by then tiny mid-engined Lotus and BRM F1 cars were winning for Britain. Now it barely has any racing coverage which was its reason for being back then.

I couldn't wait for the Rob Walker race report. Can't remember if it was Car and Driver or Road and Track

Thanks Cossie, a bloody good read and interesting to hear a bit about titans of industry from not so long ago.  :good:
