Always been a big Kimi fan.  I think he is still in the top 4 drivers on the grid.  I only rate Vettel, Alonso and Ricciardo above Kimi.

Me too. I think Kimi may have had a win or two if

Kimi’s better IMO...Hamilton’s gotten lucky with the cars he’s been in.

Kimi was fearless. Last lap crash at German GP due to
suspension failure

I think Kimi's problem is that he is just too apolitical and doesn't get involved in that side of the sport.  He is content to just get in the car and drive the hell out of it.  It possibly means he has missed out on more opportunities to win Championships, but he is still an outstanding driver who, if allowed, would win multiple races.  Just now he is in Vettel's team and has to play second fiddle.

To some degree, that's about the size of it Luke!

We have two Finns, playing second fiddle to teammates who may not be quite as impressive in a mid field team, while we currently have mid field drivers who are already impressive, ready to deliver in a top team!!

Cal :)

This week the rumour is Kimi to McLaren.  In my opinion that would open up a seat for DR at Ferrari (I still don't think Ferrari would really hire Leclerc at this stage.  They might only agree to a one year contract if DR were to join, but I think they would be idiots not to sign him if he came calling).

I would like to see Kimi at McLaren (again).   :good: :good:

Kimi:  Sauber -> McLaren -> Ferrari -> Lotus -> Ferrari -> McLaren -> Sauber?

Sounds good Scott?

If Kimi completes the whole "mirror drives system" ... he will end up back at Sauber ... and will still lament on the radio about getting these stupid slow drivers out of the way!!!  :DD

OK, whoever came up with the latest version of the rumour (swapover after summer break) is having a lark. This sounds exactly like the sort of silly rumour Eddie Jordan would spread at a media breakfast if he spotted his colleagues looking tired and bored...

Kimi couldn't give a you know what.  I don't even think he reads F1 press.  Just give him a car to race in and leave him alone.

...and nobody, but nobody laments endlessly about getting cars out of the way more than Max.  If Kimi complains about it, it's because he was unnecessarily blocked.  If Max complains about it, it's because he can see a car way off in the distance.

Very true. I think Max suffers from I am the Greatest, why don't you see that? syndrome
