Here's some high tech from the early 1950. Power parking assist that can even turn the car around in twice it's length. And besides, that spare tire was just sitting back there anyway.

Note the late 40's "Pregnant Elephant" Packard on the other side of the garage.

Can't see why that never caught on Cos, seems quite brilliant for that era - bit costly maybe?  :DntKnw:

I suspect it was heavy and took up a lot of room in the trunk (or boot).
