If it will help Lewis....that was the greatest drive

the rain at germany.  forget about it Lew

Whilst I think he expressed it wrongly he has a very good point about the commentators totally missing his brilliant car control during the showery period. F1 tv directors focused on the camera shots of the craziness from other drivers who didn't have control of their cars or were on wrong tyres.

Maybe this made commentators concentrate on what was on screen rather than using their experience, and timing screens, to see how fast Lewis was closing down those in front.
If F1 drivers can easily multi task at 150mph, being pitched about, how come ex-F1 drivers commentating can't manage more than one thing at a time in a stationary box?
I don't remember any real mention of his extra pace at that time in the race when I watched the highlights.

On reflection maybe Lewis pace played some small part in Vettel heading for the scenery, Ferrari team will certainly have noticed, telling Seb he was losing time - perhaps making him drive just a little faster than he was comfortable with.  :DntKnw:

Whatever his angle and whether he feels justified in these comments or not, most neutrals are sick and tired of the "Lewis Show" on Sky Sports.  I have watched races thinking "I haven't seen footage of Ferrari or Red Bull for a while!" ... and sometimes, it's painfully obvious, that even on occasions where Mercedes are doing nothing out of the ordinary, they obtain plenty of 'lens time'.

Best Regards,
Cal :)

I agree with Cal, too. Since ESPN downgraded the States to Sky coverage, we do pretty much get "The Hammy Show." I sometimes wonder if Haas is even there. Sky only mentions them when Grosjean throws his car at some stationary object.

Lewis: You won the race & are leading the WDC. Look at the camera, say "How do you like me now?" and go have a drink with Kimi.
