I would like to see one on the Netherlands, but as long as it's not at the expense of another European venue.  There are certainly enough enthusiastic fans (enough Dutch seem to travel to other European races to fill entire grandstands, so imagine the turnout at home).

Of course Max will expect everyone to move over for him so he can take home wins there.

To be fair Scott, I think Max expects that at every race.

I agree, unless it's Sochi. Assen is a fine venue, but what I'd really like to see is a Dutch GP at Zanvoort. I've always liked that track.

+1 I would also prefer Zandvoort. I think it's a better track.

Not sure Zandvoort could cope with the F1 circus, the track is tucked into an area full of Holiday beach homes and the roads and infrastructure could never handle the traffic.
Like a lot of smaller regional circuits the money has not been available to move them from 70s/80s layouts/facilities. The track also may not be up to standard, hard to see how they can expand things without a lot of fuss - even with local support for Max.

Assen has much better circuit facilities and two motorways on the doorstep, vital when you want to move people en masse.

Much the same as Watkins Glen. A fantastic track tucked away in the Finger Lakes region of New York state.

I can confirm this. At Hungary, an entire Silver grandstand was nearly completely full of the "Barmy Orange Army" (as the commentators called them twice) and there was a fair amount of orange in General Admission too. There was even some good-spirited rivalry between the Verstappen fans and the Kubica fans (basically, they like their drivers for about opposite reasons - being a Leclerc fan turned out to be a good "diplomatic" option for being able to talk to both sets of fans...)

'There would be a nice long straight good enough to use DRS well, and you’d maintain the historic elements of the circuit as well. I think it would be a very nice circuit.'

Why should DRS even be a factor?  That should have no bearing on whether a circuit is suitable, especially if Charlie Whiting is speaking from a safety perspective.  Ericsson's accident in practice at Monza ought to have been enough to bring about the end of DRS from a safety point of view, let along a quality of racing point of view.

'Now how big the paddocks are, access, where you are going to put spectators is not something that I would get involved in normally.

This strikes me as code for it's not going to happen, unfortunately.

Zandvoort was a great track in the past. Like most classic circuits it has changed in ways not always for the better, but I think it could provide an interesting race. Whether someone is willing to foot the bill for the paddock/pit lane improvements Liberty will likely require is another matter.
