I know that although there has been a lot of talk about the future of Blue Flags, it's unlikely to be changed, but are there any proposed rule changes to the DRS approach for 2019, has anyone heard anything yet?

Best Regards,
Cal :)

The regulation I quoted earlier is from the 2019 Sporting Regs. I didn't see any change from the 2018 season.

Thanks cosworth151!! ... so are we being over optimistic to assume that the simplified front wings will help in 2019?? (meaning, no need to modify DRS regs).

Cal :)

Intention of new modified front wings, as I understand it, is to allow following cars to stay closer to car in front for more laps without destroying their tyres or overheating. Allowing for the possibility that they can then work out a way to pass, with or with out DRS.

However team's are already saying aero specialists, well in the big teams anyway, are finding ways to defeat the intended cut to the outwash from changed front wings.
Now are they sandbagging??  :DntKnw:
Could it be the good old F1 ruse? - I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Indeed, I would expect the primary goal of the simplified wings in 2019 to alleviate the margins for following in dirty air/overheating/killing tyres etc., but I wonder how it will perform "hand in hand" with DRS zones and if cars will pass with even greater ease than they do now? (track/DRS zone dependant of course).

Sandbagging, now there is a term which I've not heard as much in 2018, as we did in 2017 .... or is that just down to my selecting hearing during GP weekends?  ;)

Best Regards,
Cal :)
