2019 Schedule
« on: October 13, 2018, 09:25:22 PM »
FIA approved official schedule for next year. No surprises, a couple races have swapped dates.

I still think Brazil should be the last race. Put a little doubt

It's a shame they've kept China as the 1000th  :'(

Tickets booked for Hungary already! Might take in Singapore too.

At least they still start in Melbourne.

Nice one Andy - Melbourne and Austria booked up for me so far.

Melbourne is excellent and easy getting to and from the circuit on the trams. Enjoy.

I just took a closer look at the dates. I can't remember if there has ever been a points paying F1 race in December.

I know it doesn't make any sense at all, but I'd love to watch an F1 race run on ice.  Teams have done demos of the cars racing on ice with special tires, so it's technically feasible.  Would be awful for the crowd, though NHL outdoor hockey games can draw 100,000 fans.

There was a WDC South African F1 GP run at Prince George circuit, East London on the 29th December 1962 the following year 63 was also a December race, 28th.
From 65 the race moved to Jan 1st and the move to Kyalami circuit in 67 still saw the race in January.
However this Jan slot didn't last as 69 saw the race move to March, or later, for the 70s on.

That season is overly long in my opinion.  I'm not a fan of seeing races continue into December.  Otherwise, I agree that ending the season in Brazil would be a lot better.

I want to go but am not sure my parents would let me. (They still haven't recovered from me getting a lap 38 DNF this year thanks to heatstroke - and there's a story in there that I haven't told you yet...)
