Second year F1 drivers are rarely successful.

I mean, champions like Jacques Villeneuve, Lewis Hamilton took, how many years to succeed?

Maybe that's not fair, they started out with top tier teams.  Why not look at recent drivers who showed promise at lower teams, but then took a few years before they started winning with top teams.  I mean, Sebastian Vettel had to race TWICE for Red Bull before he managed to win against an experienced teammate.

I think the discussion is more about if Leclerc will give Vettel the support he expects, although I think the team will ultimately take care of that, and Vettel doesn’t need to take any discussion like that public.

Although I suspect as so often is the case in F1 media, the question may have been posed amidst many others, and Autosport decided to run it as a stand alone story, trying to expose potential rifts.

Off-track, I think Sebastian is preaching to the converted. Charles is used to working with his team-mate to optimise team benefit, up to and including making some strange tyre strategies work.

On-track... ...perhaps not quite so much. Charles is accustomed to being the strongest driver in his team, which I do not believe will be the case in 2019 (watch this space regarding 2020 and thereafter). That (probably temporary) transition may not be quite as smooth as anyone planned.
