Inventor of HANS device, Dr Robert Hubbard, has passed away

We're always happy to discuss the drivers who changed the sport, or the designers.

Some people change the sport forever without ever showing up at an F1 race.  Dr. Hubbard has saved lives and enhanced motor racing across the world.  The best of the best have one less thing to fear, and that lets them rise to the top, which provides a better show for all of us.

Thank very much Dr. Hubbard.  I'm glad that you've helped make driver safety (passenger cars as well as race cars!) something important.

I absolutely agree, Jeri. People like Dr. Hubbard may not be known to racing fans but they're the reason why driver deaths have become rare occurrences.

Thank you, Dr. Hubbard.
