I bet there's millions of people that would have
loved the chance for mouth to damage them. He'd

Historically we love our passionate drivers.  Would Gilles or Senna have acted any differently in Max's situation?  I don't think so.

Of course, Gilles and Senna had a little more maturity before they were in Max's situation, so that's not fair.

But Alonso, Kimi, Seb and Hamilton were all in F1 at Max's age... and they didn't act like this either.

I think being a spoiled rich brat might have more than
a little to do with it. When Rogers tires of Dancia she and
Max are a couple made in Heaven or Hell

I don’t even pay attention when he talks because rarely is it insightful and almost never positive.

Did you see at the end of Q when he pulled into the pit lane and had to go and hit the sign...even the FOM guy standing there made a “why?” hand gesture to him.  Apart from being spoiled, I believe Max has real road rage and he will very likely get someone hurt at some point.

That's what really scares me about Max.

And he’s surrounded by “Yes” men with no correction of any behaviour.

Spoken with true foresight. Neither Horner nor Marko seem to have a problem with their driver's behaviour in the weighing area.

And I am not so convinced that the blame yesterday lies 100% with Ocon.  I think Hamilton gave the best advice that Verstappen has heard all year:

"You had more to lose than he did. He had nothing to lose."

Would Ocon have been landed a 10 second penalty if he was himself lapping a back marker?

No, not if he was lapping a car and other car was in Max position - the other car would be under blue flag and should not interfere with overtake. The other driver would get penalty, anything from 5 or 10 secs - or possibly 10 sec stop go.

However if Ocons move was either:-

(1) trying to unlap himself from a tail ender -
he could still face same 10sec stop go penalty, but more likely a 5 or 10 sec added time penalty.

(2) racing for just for position -
other car might get 5 sec added time for causing collision, or more likely IMHO be regarded as racing incident with no further action.

Having set out these various scenarios we still all know stewards decisions can be so variable as to make it impossible to say with real certainty just what they might do.

Gilles and Ayrton usually (though not always) saved their ire for actually objectionable actions. They did not shove people for their own errors. It's part of why they got so good - they at least tried to independently verify that they had a point before getting physical (I have read at least one source that Senna's unwarranted punching of Irvine was partly prompted by a mischievous journalist giving him misleading information in the hopes of spreading a rumour... ...and obtained more copy from the words than anticipated).

Anyone heard how Max's community service is coming along?   :DD

We have plenty of "activities" here in Western Canada which would suit a fit young lad like him!! (but he may end up punching a power line or push a grit bin over) ... maybe a Grizzly with a Chainsaw could teach him a thing or two??? :D

Best Regards,
Cal :)

Max  is one of several drivers that make me think, "I'd love to see him try that on A.J. Foyt."  ;)

I don't think Jean's managed to persuade enough VIPs to endure road safety speeches from Max. Which is surprising as I thought this could be quite entertaining...
