  • However, none of that could avoid the obvious this race: too much wet sand off-line, plus total lack of preparation from some teams causing needless penalties, completely spoilt the race.

I tried to watch, I'm not sure I got the schedule right (the same site lists part of the weekend on Eastern Time, which is where I live and other parts at GMT)  It felt like amateur hour, not top level racing, in terms of teams, driving (?!) and broadcast.

I thought for sure the driving would be top notch, so maybe the cars are hard to control, or they don't have enough practise, or something.

  • They deliberately don't give the Formula E drivers as long as their F1 counterparts - for most rounds, practise, qualifying and the race all happen on the same day.

  • I've been tempted to "check in" on Formula E once or twice - although, my gut feeling tells me I would not enjoy it.   Other than F1, I occasionally watch DTM or Motocross, but becoming a regular viewer of Formula E, may be a bridge too far?

  • I watch FE races quite often as they are broadcast by a channel called Quest at a time when there's pretty much nothing else on. This doesn't mean I'm a fan, but its better than the endless list of so called reality TV.

Biggest problem for me is that there is too much artificial input.
Last year it was cars swapped half distance plus fan boost?????  ::)
This year it's the insane change lane nonsense to get extra boost,
plus they still have fan boost.

Most interesting thing in last race was the 2 leaders, from the same team, tripping over each other a few laps from home.  |-(  :swoon:

    - Obviously they're rehearsing to take F1's team mate squabble limelight sometime in the years to come.   :DD :DD :DD

  • As a rule, I'll watch just about any form of motorsports. I watched a tractor pull on TV earlier today. I has no interest whatsoever in a "sport" that has things like Fan Boost.

  • I have to admit, back in the early days of Sky TV, I used to watch Eurosport.  Anything that had an engine and moved, I pretty much watched like a TV Slob.  So, as you say, Tractors, Trucks, Cars, Bikes ... I watched 'em all .... which was nice.

I may tune into FE sometime soon, but it does sound a little silly (artificial) compared with F1.

    Best Regards,
    Cal :)
