That's right. They're going to do it right before the first test session at Barcelona.

The last few years most 'launches' are just a photo op for sponsors with a car that vaguely resembles what teams unveil for testing.

I don't really mind.  As a fan, I don't NEED to know how many winglets are on the vertical surface of the endplate of the bargeboards.  Just show me something swoopy with four wheels and a cool paint job.

Even when a car is truly 'unveiled' for testing, how often does THAT car end up on the starting grid at Melbourne?  They usually change the angle of the third air channel on the horizontal diffuser on the middle of the anterior sub wing.  I mean, who would even WANT to see that horrid old channel that is 1.5 degrees out of alignment?

Spotting those little changes has always been the F1 version of Where's Waldo.   ;)

The sooner, the better (as I have little cars to paint before 17th March).  Of course, a couple of seasons ago, Force India messed me around with their late change to "The Pink Panther" ... as from memory, I 'think' they ran the silver/orange/black livery in testing that season??

Best Regards,
Cal :)

You sure it was FIF1, just because the car was miles adrift from anything else it could easily have been a McLaren covered in oil from the Honda lump.   :P :D

I actually like that scheme!

However, these "leaks" or "pre-season" testing colours rarely reach the grid on race day.

I love the look, but the sponsorship looks cluttered.  If I was paying to put my name on an F1 car, I wouldn't want to be part of that 'Where's Waldo' scheme.

I presume the Sahara and Kingfisher logos will disappear, won't they?  Surely someone has just done a paint box change to last years car?  :DntKnw:

That's what it looks like to me. Still, interesting color blending.

I think it was mostly silver with black trim. It looked like a cross between a McLaren and a desperate plea for sponsors.

This is the paint job I am remembering ... before the late dash to 'Pink'.

I have expect to see some shoddy, blurry fonts and some ill-fitting logos that were quickly squeezed in.  I just cannot believe that the Rich Energy thing is really happening, but there you go.
