Unlikely!

If you look at the history books and their forecast/vision of the future, they usually aim too far ahead in where they think we will all be at.   Let's face it, as kids, if someone described 2020, we would be flying in cars and everything related to a typical Sci-Fi movie like Back to the Future etc.

In all honesty, I thought this topic would include "McLaren's Vision for the Future ..... is to be Competitive!"

Best Regards,
Cal :)

It looks like a toy my little one has. It's  okay for racing around the living room with the lights off but not sure of it for a future F1 car.

It'll look great with the flames from an exploding Renault engine coming from the back of it.

Like the theory of fast charge from track to power cars, but have real problems with the totally enclosed cockpit.  :nono:

Is it just me or are the foot pedals missing from where the drivers feet should be, when looking through the long cockpit cover. Now this could be an oversight - or they proposing drivers will just use a computer game controller in place of the steering wheel.

I guess they'll also have to fit exploding bolts to the massive cockpit canopy, airplane style to recover drivers after shunts. ……… or will it be full ejection seat.  :D

The cars will be controlled via neural implants so pedals will have become surplus to requirements but that point and just extra, redundant weight.

I know you're joking, but the US Navy is already using this strategy:

It does carry on an aspect of design that has been a constant in recent McLaren F1 cars - no unsightly major sponsor logos. Other than that - it's a Hot Wheels car.
