Porsche have already built a current/2021 spec F1 engine
« on: May 31, 2019, 12:36:35 PM »
The six-cylinder unit currently exists and "is complete and running on the test bench", with Porsche's technicians using it "for analyses and further orders with regard to series relevance", says Fritz Enzinger, Porsche motorsport boss.
However its unclear whether it incorporates MGU-H capability.

Some manufacturers complain about costs, and then Porsche just goes ahead and designs one without any idea if they'll sell it or use it.

Oh I think Porsche has deep enough pockets to do one on spec.

But then so do Toyota, Honda, General Motors.

Or if you want a car company with deep pockets, Uber is worth more than the rest combined.

But who wants a pair of F1 cars driven by out of work musicians?   ;)

Jaime Alguersuari is available  :good:

(Although Canadian Ubers are driven by immigrants... so basically they're just taxi drivers.  (Canadian taxi drivers are doctors who don't have a local licence to practice, because our government wants the best of the best, but doesn't have a system in place to recognize foreign certification.))

A large percentage of Ubers around here are unemployed factory workers & underemployed WalMart employees, food service folks and musicians.

(The last is a bit of a rib at a friend & band mate who sometimes drives Uber.  :P )
