I guess the Nürburgring is not too far away, Maybe they can borrow there's if needed.  :D

This just seems like a running theme at tracks this year, didn't we have a recovery truck crane arm striking some other infra structure at a previous race.
I guess it's a way to generate interest at dull races.  ;) :D

F1 management seems to be suffering from a contagion of incompetence.

Azerbaijan had a recovery vehicle hitting a bridge (with George Russell's car on board) for the same reason - apparent lack of understanding regarding physics on the part of the heavy vehicle drivers.

I can only assume the bus driver got told to keep left and decided to keep to their other left.

There have been lots of effort to put 'retro' elements into the 2019 season, looking into F1's history.

Maybe they can go a step further and go back to starting the race with a green flag?  (I'd love to see a LeMans start, but not sure that would be possible, without even getting into the absurd dangers.)

They have to do something to provide entertainment I guess :D.  In all seriousness though, it looks like a serious lapse to me.  The height of the bus should have been checked relative to the gantry before it was sent around the circuit.

Often reports in Britain about Buses and Lorries misjudging bridge heights, so why should German Bus/Lorry drivers be any different.  :D

There's a underpass here with the max height listed but
the problem is they repaved the road several times and
never changed the warning sign.

My favourite was the time a lorry got stuck under a local railway bridge that had "We Fit" emblazoned across the side.

No, you really don't...

(The height was clearly marked. Perhaps the driver noticed it was an arched bridge and thought the lorry could be snuck under the 6-inch wider gap in the centre of the bridge (compared with the height at the edges, which was the distance used for the height markings)?

Hoffmann Reisen might not be happy with the coverage, but as someone important (who I can’t recall) once said, “there is no such thing as bad publicity”.
