Veterans Day/Remembrance Day
« on: November 17, 2019, 07:14:33 PM »
I'm sorry for being a week late with this. I was off in Washington D.C.

I always put up a post for Veterans Day/Remembrance Day/Remembrance Day/Armistice Day. Please give a thought to those who put their lives on the line to give us the world that we have. As the song says, they all gave some, and some gave all.

Thank you, Wizzo, for posting the link to the Royal British Legion's Poppy appeal.

It is a day (week, month) to think about the sacrifices people have made over the years to make the world a better place.

I know that some people like to point out the problems in the world, but, over all, I feel like all those sacrifices have not been in vain.  The world IS a better place than it was in 1918, 1945 or at the end of any other conflicts that have seen brave men and women give everything.

Enjoy the freedoms they fought for, enjoy the ease that we can reap for their sacrifices. And never forget.
