IndyCar returns tonight, June 6 at Texas Motor Speedway

It's not the open wheel racing in Texas we all want, but it's the open wheel racing racing in Texas we get.

IndyCar returns at 8 pm (eastern time) tonight

The race will be on NBC broadcast network TV. The pre and post race shows will be their cable sports NBCSN.

Thanks for the heads up but it ain't worth buying Sky Sports subscription in Britain just to see Indy car, I'll wait til F1 returns to catch Indy again to get real value for the £35 a month.  :(

The IndyCar schedule in Canada is weird (normally weird, not just Covid weird).  The rights are owned by a telecommunications company called Rogers who own tons of TV channels.  There is no 'one' channel that shows the races.  Any given IndyCar race can appear on CityTV (free to air), SportsNet (basic cable), SportsNetWorld (premium cable) and sometimes OLN (outdoor life network - also basic cable)

(F1 rights are owned by Bell, a competing telecommunications company, and they always show the races on the same channel, TSN4, which is legally the sports feed for Ontario, Canada (except for Ottawa.  TSN is premium cable.  It's cheaper to watch IndyCar than F1 in Canada)

It's kind of the same here in the States. NBC has the rights to IndyCar and IMSA. Normally, some events are on NBC (broadcast), some on NBCSN (Basic cable in most areas) and some on NBC Sports Gold (Paid subscription, like Netflix).

ESPN (Disney) has the rights to F1. Under non-covid circumstances, a couple of events are on ABC (broadcast), some on ESPN/ESPN2 (basic cable) and some on ESPN/U or ESPN News (good luck with that). It's almost impossible to watch Free Practice or even some Quali because they are out on those last two.
