Anyone hoping for new entrants with the new tech rules and budget cap in 2022 will be sorely disappointed with this huge penalty upfront.

This new entrance fee and start up costs could mean any new team owner having to fork out well over $300m just to put cars on grid at first race, and that's before any payments due to FIA and for engines.

Good luck finding anyone stupid enough to ante up! Makes Williams team look cheap at only half that price.

If someone wants to join for 2022, they should have joined already.  We've all seen that it takes more than a year to put together an F1 team.

We've also seen that joining in the 'middle' of a set of technical rules puts teams behind.  Especially now that they've clarified how much 'borrowing' teams can do.

Anyone joining F1 in 2021+ isn't going to be competitive for several years.  It won't be possible to replicate what Haas did (and what Haas did didn't even work long term, did it?).

And for that you have to pay MORE than a single year's budget, on top of whatever other startup costs exist?
