Max Causes International Incident.
« on: November 02, 2020, 11:14:55 PM »
The Ambassador from Mongolia to the UN has made a formal complaint to the FIA over Max calling Stroll a retard and a Mongol for his driving in qualifying.

I had no idea 'mongol' was an insult per se.  I wonder if it's more regional, or if Max really has exposure to a colourful list of insults.

A little comical to me is that Aston Martin is named as having to take responsibility as one of Max's sponsors.  Aston Martin's owner in trouble for something someone said about his son...

(Although I do agree with holding a title sponsor to a high standard)

I bet that caused F1 to lose a bunch of
Mongolian fans.

The word "mongoloid" was once used as a disparaging name for people with Down syndrome. Considering the other insulting label he had just used, I think this might be what he meant.

I was never a big fan of Max. This tirade, and his refusal to apologize for it, has completely finished him in my opinion.

I'd previously assumed that 'Mongol' was sort of the Chinese equivalent of 'barbarian'.  The 'others' who keep invading and make you build walls.  (Like Scots to England, or Vandals to Rome).  It's even crazier that the term was actually coined by scientists to be used scientifically.

I'd never call for violence, but if Lewis and Albon wanted to have a short 'discussion' with Max behind the motorhomes, I'd support them.  (Any other drivers too, mechanics... maybe some of those big guys Ferrari uses to block cameras...)
