Seb Reconsiders Retirement
« on: November 20, 2020, 04:09:37 PM »
It looks like Sebastian Vettel has reconsidered his talk of imminent retirement.

"I'm 33 now, I'll be on the track for another three years, and I really don't want to be racing at 40. So if you really assess it then I have from three to seven years left in Formula 1."

Maybe he's had an offer from someone.

I would imagine that being an F1 driver is like any job.  Some days it's a grind you just suffer through.  Some days everything is going right, and it leaves you feeling fulfilled.

I'm sure going through his experience at Ferrari has been a grind.  Racing at Turkey, which seems to be the closest to 'real' racing F1 has had in a long time, is enough to remind him what he loves about the sport, what he won't get anywhere else.

One thing he has going for him is he should be
able to beat Lance. If he doesn't he might change
his mind. I'd like to see him against Sergio

I think Seb's retirement was contingent on not getting a contract he liked.

Now that he has a contract he likes, obviously he's not going to retire unless he either reaches the end of that contract or decides he doesn't like it after all. If either had occurred before even starting the contract, that would have been a bad sign ;)
