Sir Lewis Hamilton signs for Mercedes

So it is a one year deal and all the hype has proved to be rubbish.
Hamilton and Mercedes are saying that one year will provide the opportunity to jointly decide what long term plans can be made. No issues about money - it seems one of the biggest hold-ups was Hamilton insisting that he could have personal sponsors on the race suit!

Given how early Sainz and Ricciardo signed with Ferrari and McLaren, and how late Sir Lewis signed with Mercedes, is this the longest silly season on record?

Good to still have him on the grid, but it's still all about money - Lewis won't be giving personal sponsors a free ride..

He maybe wanting to use it for the likes of the "Black lives matter" campaign in which case no money will change hands but I really can't get into speculation which is all the press do.

Nice to see it be a done deal finally.
Lewis has to get at least one more WDC's.

So according to Toto, the contract was delayed because they didn't negotiate with Sir Lewis while he was recovering from Covid (which seems like a good idea to me.  It would be possible for Lewis to contest any contract signed while not at his best.)

It was also while toto had Covid too so even more delay.
I wonder if there is a male and female version of Covid like there is with the common cold?  :DntKnw:
