Sprint races just the start; F1 now wants push to pass button!

If you don't like the idea of Sprint races you may take a sharp intake of breath with FIA/Liberty's newest big idea; it's straight from Champ cars playbook of more than a decade ago.  :D

And the deployment of stored energy.

I think that fans need to be made more aware of the strategy of harvesting/using the energy in the hybrid systems.  Even the people calling the race don't always understand why a car will fall back one lap and then be ready to pass on the next.

The fans I almost understand (key word, that almost). If one is truly a fan, one should find these things out so one knows what they're a fan of......

Those announcers? They have no excuse. It's their profession. Mayhaps they need to be calling something else......  ::)

Yup. The real "sport" of auto racing is coming to a close. It's happened to every other venue before, NASCAR, Indy cars, and sports cars.......no longer the proving grounds for the best engineers, teams and drivers. It's now simply an orchestrated "show", with all the gimmicks they can come up with to keep the "show" close and exciting for the uninitiateds' enjoyment, and, more importantly, the sponsors exposure, throughout the field.  :'(

'T'is a shame.  I relish the fact that I was around enjoying the sport in what I consider it's best days ('60s and '70s; I'm sure they were just as enjoyable prior) since, even tho' leaders finished laps apart......  ;)
