2021 Bahrain GP

And they're off & running at Sakhir! The 2021 season has started.

The high point of the day so far for me: Williams has a Murray Walker tribute on their halo bar. Well done!

Well done Williams!

Also well done to the various designers who got 14 cars within 1 second of each other in second practise. It may not last, but it means we are probably going to have a lot of scraps up and down the field in 2021 :)

This also marks the debut of the Aston Martin Safety & Medical Cars. They will be alternating with the Mercedes this season.

Yes, I noticed the Aston cars...nice move to include other manufacturers' vehicles.
And it was classy of Williams to put the Walker tribute on the halo.

The Sky TV crew mentioned something that I hadn't thought of. There are now 2 different makes of Safety Car. I guess Mercedes is even going to have sponsorship on theirs. Will there be pressure to have more actual S/C periods and fewer virtual ones, just to give the cars more time on screen?

If I made the car they use I would want as much screen time as possible, so would lobby for actual safety car periods and no virtual ones.

I can’t stand the VSC anyhow.  I’d rather they call out the SC to stack up the cars.  I never understood what was wrong with that other than the “it’s not fair” from the leader.
