Global Warming
« on: March 22, 2007, 01:04:41 PM »

Did anyone see the documentary about Global Warming the other day?

It basically proved, (by just about every scientist in this field), that the Earth is warming (as we know) but, it has nothing to do with mankind or the greenhouse gasses we produce.

We have been told that Global warming is down to the large amounts of CO2 we produce. Actually, mankind as a whole produces 0.54% of the total CO2 produced in the world, so therefore if we stopped every factory, car and plane from producing CO2, we would make 0.54% difference - in short, no difference at all.

The biggest rise in global temperature in the last 100 years was between 1900-1940 when it constantly increased for 4 decades. The point here is there were virtually no factories, cars or planes on the planet - so why did the temperature rise?

Its all down to the activity of the sun! Now I'm no scientist but if someone asked me to investigate why the world is warming up wouldn't you start with the sun? Its a bit like someone complaining their house getting hotter and instead of looking at the heating system, you come to the conclusion that every time their dog farts in contributes to the problem.

Many are now calling this 'Greenwash' where Governments from all over the world have seen an opportunity to tax us more on rubbish collection and travel. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for recycling and less wastage, but are our hard earned taxes going to solve this problem?
