And You Thought Sausage Kerbs in F1 Were Bad

What happens when you use bolt-on metal sausage kerbs on a track full of 3,400 pound NASCAR Cup cars with no ride height restrictions? First off, for most of the day, it was ripping off the front splitters, taking the entire radiator tray with them. After multiple repairs to the kerb, there was a late race restart. The leading edge of the kerb finally got pried up just as the pack of cars was going over it:



So then, they decided to remove the curved kerb, but leave the straight line "launch ramp" kerb behind it, straight across the direction of the cars. (See photo below) What could go wrong? Here's a clue - Cup cars don't corner very well with all four wheels off the ground:

Yes and if you thought sausage curbs were too tough on F1 cars, watch this and then realize the flying car went on to win.
