No big surprise. When he set FL yesterday, we were joking in the Chat Room that his kit would be in a pile out back of the Merc garage by the time he was on the podium. I wonder if Merc will bring George up before the end of the season.

I very much doubt that as GR does not currently fit into the car and Alpha would want KR to finish his F1 career along with the publicity that goes with it.

Andy.....what am I missing? What would Russell's leaving Williams have to do with Kimi's finishing the season?

Didn't stop Mercedes last time - although I think it would preclude deliberately setting off that chain of events. More likely, everyone stays put unless Lewis or Valtteri gets COVID (again in Lewis' case).

I probably would have tried to steal Norris, but Russell could still impress I guess.

Merc needed Trulli. He could get in 2nd and run a train like
good rear gunner should

I think there's an Enzo Trulli going through the ranks, if Mercedes wants to train one up (though I have no idea if he's inherited Jarno's skills at defence)...
