Money trumps talent once again!  :(

I know why Guanyu Zhou has got the nod over Oscar Piastri, but Guanyu has spent 3 years in F2 and still is not looking like a champion, where as Oscar blitzed F3 championship in his first season 2020 and is on course to be a rookie champion in F2 this year.
Incidentally Zhou was no great shakes in F3 either.

Can think of very few with equivalent build up qualifications to Oscar, but Sir Lewis Hamilton is certainly one of em!  :yahoo:

Real shame that Oscar wont be able to keep racing at top level next term as he will be excluded from F2 if, or rather when, he's crowned champ.  ::)

The FIA needs to do something about this.  If F2 is supposed to be a 'pipeline' to Formula one, you can't just throw the best away because there's no room in F1 at the moment.  I get that choosing an F1 driver, especially if you're not planning to win anyway, is about more than getting the most talented driver available.

Instead of kicking someone out once they've won F2, why not some other criteria? 30 years old or 30 wins?

Or why kick people out at all?  Maybe if F2 wasn't a revolving series of faces, it might develop its own fandom.  Maybe staying in F2 after winning the championship is better than settling for a seat at an F1 'minnow'. Why not win 5 F2 championships instead of finishing 13th for two F1 seasons until your sponsor gets bored?
