The suspensions on those cars are amazing. Got to look under a Toyota that was prepped for the Baja 500/1000. The inner suspension mounts were nearly on the truck's centerline. Long, long arms to give long travel, so they can be relatively soft. Four gigantic shocks on each wheel. Lots of little stuff to max out durability. Really high tech.
